Gun Control Advocates Shot Down in Harrisburg

E-mail Print PDF

Alas, just yesterday the Pennsylvania State Legislature shot down a bill to close the Florida Loophole when it comes to purchasing guns.  It would have prevented Pennsylvania gunslingers - with bad history - the right to pick one up out of state to use back here in the Commonwealth.

If that's no enough - it also did nothing to stop control of straw gun buyers, who then resell  on the street the bang-bangs used in many crimes right here on Philadelphia streets.  Shot down too was the proposal that f legally licensed gun owners  be required to notify the authorities if a gun in their name was stolen or lost.    Now anyone who passes the test can pick up as many of these deadly babies as they want - and resell them on the street for big bucks - no questions asked!

Here's how the Inky's Amy Worden put it ......" At the  same time, House Republicans, backed by dozens of Democratic supporters, shut down attempts to consider any amendments proposed by gun-control advocates. One that had the wide support of law enforcement and mayors across Pennsylvania would have closed a loophole that allows individuals denied gun permits in Pennsylvania to get them elsewhere.
